Brake pedal

The simulation of the brake pedal simulation is engineered to the tiniest detail. The brake pedal simulates even the short gap between the brake pads and brake disc – you need to depress the brake pedals to a certain level to bring the brake pads into contact with the brake disc. Only then the brake starts to work.

This precise simulation is provided by a two-component damper system. This consists of a short coil spring that simulates a gap between the brake pads and the brake disc. Subsequently, a system of progressive rubber dampers comes into play, which simulates the brake pedal response from the moment the pads touch the brake disc. To make matters even more complex, the shock absorber is two-way and changes its resistance depending on how quickly you press and release the pedal. The task of this technology is to simulate as accurately as possible the operation and responses of the brake pedal in a real racing car.

You can choose from 10 pedal stiffness levels that change by adding or removing rubber blocks with different stiffness levels. Adding a stiffer rubber block to the pedal will increase the force required to depress the pedal, while using a softer rubber block will reduce its stiffness. At extreme settings, up to 136 kilograms of force is required on the pedal, a value comparable to a Formula 1 racing car. Just for comparison, in a classic non-racing car, only 4 kilograms of force is required to produce maximum braking.

From the following graphs, you can easily see how wide range of brake pedal response can be achieved by adding and removing spring rubber blocks. Clutch pedal

The technical solution of the clutch makes the operation of the clutch pedal at the end of its travel softer. This phenomenon is taken into account on the Heusinkveld Sim Pedals Ultimate clutch pedal. As with other pedals, you can precisely adjust its depression, pedal force and sensitivity.

The maximum pedal force of 45 kilograms is the same as can be experienced with real formula racing cars. Of course, you need to exert an incomparably higher force to depress it, than to depress the clutch pedal in a standard passenger car. If you find this resistance too high, you can simply reduce it. Like the brake pedal, the clutch is also equipped with a two-way damper that slightly changes its resistance as you quickly depress and release the pedal.

Thanks to the precise elaboration of the pedal body, individual bearings and joints, the pedal also delivers maximum sensitivity. You can be sure that even the slightest foot movement on the pedal will be registered immediately transferred to the simulator software.

From the graphs of the force required to depress the clutch pedal at each point in the depression path, you can see at a glance that the pedal slightly ‘slacks’ towards the end of the path and requires less force to push. The green graph is for the lightest pedal settings, the red graph shows the clutch pedal response at the most extreme setting, with a maximum resistance exceeding 45 kilograms.

Maintenance-free hydraulic system

Although, it might seem, that the hydraulic system of the Ultimate pedals is more difficult to maintain, than the standard, spring only system, the opposite is true. The Heusinkveld Ultimate Sim Racing Ultimate pedals undergone a large series long time tests under high loads – to confirm their quality and resistance to the harsh treatment, they experience in professional racing simulators. These tests fully confirmed their high resistance and ability to operate smoothly.

The hydraulic mechanism does not require any regular maintenance and can withstand reliable operation even at regular use in maximum load settings. If necessary, the hydraulic mechanismus can be easily removed. The functionality of the pedal will be retained, as the sensors are not part of the hydraulic units.
